I never imagined that I would be running a voice coaching studio of this size. My studio which is now in Frenchs Forest grew to it's current size where I now employ only the very best teachers to help me cater for it's ever growing demand.
Why has it grown to this size? I really can't give a definitive answer. Is it because almost every HSC student who walks through my door receives a band 6 for their HSC music? Is it because we have a ridiculous number of featured artists in the School's Spectacular every year? Is it because our students win an obscene amount of competitions and eisteddfods? Is it because I'm so modest? I just can't say...
Whatever the reason, clearly we're doing something right here and a lot of singers and their parents want to be part of it. I’m extremely passionate and proud of all of our students here at the studios and I’m also just as proud of my teachers, many of whom I have taught. They are all passionate about great voice coaching and great teaching and their students are soaring to such great heights.
Along this journey of coaching and running a studio, I have come to realize that finding the right coach for an individual is so important which is why I employ a variety of teachers with strengths and passions in different areas. All of my teachers and I work closely together in developing each singer who joins our studios. We are all so driven and work in a collegiate manner, which I believe, creates the best possible results for our students.
What we have created here is a community of teachers, parents, and students who all just love singing. My students are my life and my passion and they feel much more like my nieces and nephews. And let me tell you, my ambition for their success well outweighs their own! Natasha Cupitt
"Students should be made to feel confident and positive about themselves and their singing.
They should be free and encouraged to explore all styles of music, particularly when young, as we know that this has a strong correlation and relevance to their developing sense of identity.
All students have different aptitudes and different ways of learning and they should be catered for in this regard.
Vocal technique should be taught in a way that is easy to understand and that works on all of the muscle groups to create a free, clear and warm vocal tone.
Regular practice of these techniques should be encouraged by both the teacher and parents together and that students, particularly when young, should not have to find the time and motivation to do this on their own. Just as homework is encouraged, so should singing practice be.
As teachers, it is our role to encourage students not only to do well in singing, but also to do well in life. This includes being a happy, healthy, successful, caring and upstanding person in our ever changing society."
From the moment we met Natasha, we knew she was someone who would be important to our 9 year old daughter’s future. She has this incredible ability to wear many hats: technical voice coach, mentor, performance coach and all round lovely person. She’s clever, kind, compassionate yet tough when she needs to be.
Developing excellence is absolutely Natasha’s forte. The sky is the limit for her students as she carefully prepares them mentally and physically for performances and auditions. Her classes are certainly never boring! With just the right blend of positivity and humour, she manages to build confidence whilst delivering constructive feedback. That’s a talent worth bottling in itself!
We are so incredibly grateful for all that Natasha has done for Liz. We are 6 years down the track now, and the photos say it all. Our super confident 15 year old is acutely aware of how her voice works, how to nurture and protect it... how to handle nerves... how to look and act the part. She successfully auditioned for an elite Music School and has performed many times in School Spectacular. Without Natasha’s help, she simply would not have thought herself capable.
So in short, if you are looking for vocal and performance excellence, you can’t go past Natasha and her wonderful team of professional coaches. It won’t surprise us one bit if they produce Australia’s next crop of outstanding performers! Catherine Player
